bumpdate, pregnancy

40 weeks!!

I can’t believe it’s finally here! Somehow 40 weeks have come and gone and I’ve finally made it to my due date! It really seems like we just announced. Maybe it’s because I still see our announcement being shared pretty much weekly haha. These past months really do seem to have flown by. Even this past month (which really seemed to be dragging by) has actually gone by pretty quickly.

I have been slacking on keeping up with the blog over the past weeks as I’ve been exhausted and trying to prepare for the new baby girl. I do plan to be back on here once things settle down. But today I just wanted to pop in and share the last few pregnancy photos before it’s all over.

I definitely had much more motivation to document my pregnancy with Clementine than I did this time around. I’m pretty sure the winter blues have something to do with it. We haven’t left the house much this winter so I just haven’t taken as many pictures! But as much as I’m ready to have a smaller belly, I know I’m going to be missing it pretty soon so I’ve tried to take pictures every once in a while.

I know I’ve mentioned it before but one of my favorite things this pregnancy has been sharing the journey with my best friend, Maggi. Her due date is on Wednesday (Valentine’s Day) and I’m so anxious to see how far apart the births end up being! We have the same doctor so I keep playing out a scene in my mind where he runs down the hall from one room to another to deliver our baby girls. Every time I talk about that scenario, someone brings up “Father of the Bride.” I’ve never actually seen the movie so I should try watching it before the babies are here haha.

We have a lot of the same things packed in our hospital bags for our girls so it would be really neat if our hospital stays overlapped and we could take some twinning pictures of the girls!

In my last blog post, I shared the fears I had been having about the upcoming labor and delivery. So many of you reached out to me to let me know they shared those same fears. I really think it’s just a normal part of pregnancy. I will say that as my delivery date has gotten closer, the fears have definitely faded. Don’t get me wrong–I am still fearful of the pain and the unknown. But I think that excitement has been taking over! It’s just amazing to think that any day now, I will meet this precious baby girl that has been growing in my womb over the past 9 months.

And how am I feeling at 40 weeks pregnant? Well, the past few weeks I’ve been feeling pretty “normal” during the day. But every evening around 5-6ish, baby girl decides that she wants to stretch out and move as much as possible. It is extremely uncomfortable/painful and I usually have some uncomfortable contractions that come along with it. But she usually settles down just in time for me to go to bed each night. Overall I still think I’m feeling better than you’d expect with the seventh baby. But I’m definitely looking forward to feeling “normal” (aka not pregnant) soon!Yesterday threw me completely off when I woke up feeling cramping/contractions. I didn’t feel like I was in labor but I did feel like it could potentially progress. I was a little excited at the thought of having the baby. But the other part hoped it would fade because I have a lunch date with my two best friends at Shake Shack tomorrow and I didn’t want to miss out haha. I just need Shake Shack one more time this pregnancy and then I can happily go into labor and give birth just after midnight to a little Valentine’s baby 😉 I obviously have high ambitions!

All the kids are super excited to meet the new baby and I’m so excited to share her with you! Thank you again for following along with us on this journey! It feels so special that this little girl is anticipated by so many! I will share her arrival over on my Instagram when she makes her appearance so make sure to follow along so you don’t miss out!!
